Symposium - Making Presence Felt: Applications of somatic practice & research, June 5-7th 2019

UCLanDance are hosting a three-day symposium celebrating the 30th Anniversary of the International Somatic Movement Education & Therapy Association (ISMETA), and work coming from UK and Ireland ISMETA approved and affiliated programmes.

This symposium offers an opportunity for graduates, students, staff and representatives of these training programmes and ISMETA to come together for the first time, to collectively acknowledge what we have to offer, and make OUR presence felt in the wider world. Through workshops, provocations and presentations, the aim of the symposium is to profile practice and research inquiries being carried out by practitioners and graduates. Areas of inquiry will be in health, wellbeing, Social-Prescribing, education, social care/other community contexts, or provide sharing opportunities for the impact of training upon personal life trajectories.
